Having read an article recently in The Smart Manager on the changing role of the Indian Women, felt it would be good to share a few thoughts…. so this is kudos to all the women who have dared to cross the Rubicon, redefining her role not only in the Indian subcontinent but the globe at large.
The author has very beautifully scripted the new image of the Indian Woman who is not only a successful homemaker but also qualified and excelling in her professional life. And it is not that she has shed her femininity to do…she has taken on the world by making femininity her strength. So you may see her dawning a chiffon on her way to office after having obviously packed her kids to school and taken care of all the household chores. Yes it is difficult for her no doubt. But she over the years has learnt to skilfully maintain a work life balance. In fact certain skills like working in a team, leadership, organising and planning etc learnt at the workplace have helped her do better on the home front. Her comfort zone is now not only her home but the workplace as well. So while she can be rational and a no nonsense when she wants, she more often uses her softer and emotional side of the personality to win hearts on both the fronts. She has used her softer side to nurture and develop relationship hubs at the workplace thus improving on employee loyalty, better productivity, team work, 360 degree learning and less typecast roles. And you thought all this was being ignored? No way! A woman is surely more than welcome in the monotonous office space of yester years...she truly has changed the look and feel of working in an organization....So keep it up all you gals out there!
