YOU’VE DONE IT GALS!

Having read an article recently in The Smart Manager on the changing role of the Indian Women, felt it would be good to share a few thoughts…. so this is kudos to all the women who have dared to cross the Rubicon, redefining her role not only in the Indian subcontinent but the globe at large.

The author has very beautifully scripted the new image of the Indian Woman who is not only a successful homemaker but also qualified and excelling in her professional life. And it is not that she has shed her femininity to do…she has taken on the world by making femininity her strength. So you may see her dawning a chiffon on her way to office after having obviously packed her kids to school and taken care of all the household chores. Yes it is difficult for her no doubt. But she over the years has learnt to skilfully maintain a work life balance. In fact certain skills like working in a team, leadership, organising and planning etc learnt at the workplace have helped her do better on the home front. Her comfort zone is now not only her home but the workplace as well. So while she can be rational and a no nonsense when she wants, she more often uses her softer and emotional side of the personality to win hearts on both the fronts. She has used her softer side to nurture and develop relationship hubs at the workplace thus improving on employee loyalty, better productivity, team work, 360 degree learning and less typecast roles. And you thought all this was being ignored? No way! A woman is surely more than welcome in the monotonous office space of yester years...she truly has changed the look and feel of working in an organization....So keep it up all you gals out there!
And just in case this has motivated you to read the full article check out the website http://www.thesmartmanager.com/ for details on the same....

WONDERS OF LIFE

Be it the best of times or the worst of times
Life is always a celebration.

No matter how good the time it always passes away
No matter how worse the situation it also passes by

So why is it that most of us live in the past,
Close our eyes to the present, and crib about what the future holds?

I always believe in one thing...
There is always a second chance if you believe in life and its wonders
For failure is a stepping stone to success
And a fall makes you realize your true potential and stand up stronger!

This is for all those guys who have forgotten how wonderful and precious life is. Its for those who get taken aback by a small wind of failure and want to end their lives. It is to awaken those who have closed their eyes from the world and think that they are the only ones suffering....its to help them realize that every night is followed by a morning...and this is the wonder of life!

TREASURE ISLAND

Mumbai...the city of dreams.
Mumbai...a place that has room for all
But alas, people are lost, lost forever searching.
Searching for TREASURE ISLAND.

It often makes me wonder why is that so?
For is not this treasure right within each one of us?
Look for it and you can see it in the smile of the child next door.
Lend your ears, and its there in sound of the chirping birds.

Then what art thou searching for?
Always rushing and scrambilng, with nothing to gain?
Just stop for a while and look at the rising sun.
Listen what the waves at the seashore have to tell you.
And you will surely realize one day,
Your search is over,
For you have found your TREASURE ISLAND....and that is YOU my dear!

A TRUE FRIEND

She is sweet. She is quiet.
Not a word. Yet she is wise.
I oft think why she is my friend,
Though I realised she is so only when we were to part.

When we met we seemed to have come from different planets.
Days, weeks, months, years. She still seemed a stranger.
Then came a day when we found both suffering and in pain
This is where we found in each other a friend.

Yet we stayed apart. Solitude in both our lives.
Till destiny bought us together again,
When I was in deep pain,
The world seemed a stranger and all against me,
She stood quitely by me like a rock.

I have known her for six years now.
She still is sweet and quiet as ever.
We are far away...and yet so close.
She is my true friend and ever will be so.
